POS system for a café and restaurant: what it must do in 2027

Fiscalization, kitchen display, QR ordering at the table, delivery, and recipes with ingredient stock. A list of what a hospitality register should have and how the POS module covers it.

A hospitality register is long past being a drawer with a printer. It is where the order, kitchen, stock, payment and the law meet. Here is a list of what a POS system for a café and restaurant should do, and how the POS module handles it.

1. Fiscalization by country

eKasa in Slovakia, EET in the Czech Republic, an online cash register in Hungary, TSE in Germany. The register must fiscalize correctly even offline and send everything in the correct order once the connection is restored. In GetERI, fiscalization is part of the POS module, and offline mode is in the system core.

2. An order the kitchen understands

Categories, modifiers ("no onions"), courses and notes belong to the order from the start. The kitchen display (KDS) shows what to make and in what order, and kitchen printing is a fallback for operations that do not want a display. The order-calling monitor and menu board are separate parts for fast food.

3. Tables, bills and tips

A floor plan with tables and rooms, splitting a bill among guests, multiple payments on one bill, discounts and tips. All in one part, "Billing and payments".

4. QR ordering and self-service kiosk

A guest scans a code on the table, orders and pays from their phone. A kiosk at the entrance handles fast food without staff. Both parts work with the same menu as the register, so nothing is maintained twice.

5. Delivery and external platforms

Orders from Wolt, Bolt or your own website go to the same kitchen. Delivery with couriers is part of POS; your own online ordering is provided by the Websites and e-shops module.

6. Recipes and ingredient stock

Every dish sold deducts ingredients according to its recipe. Ingredient stocktaking is then not guesswork. For operations with their own production, there is also a production planner for the kitchen.

7. Closings and reports

Daily X and Z closings, cash journal, revenue by day, hour and staff member. The AI agent can also bring you reports, just write "show me this week's revenue".

What a small café needs

Sales, billing and payments, fiscalization, a fast register, a kitchen display, a customer display, recipes and closings. These are exactly the parts enabled by default in the POS module. You enable QR ordering, kiosk, delivery and external platforms when the time comes, with the first 30 days free of charge.

What it looks like in numbers for two people behind the counter is shown in the solution for cafés. Hardware verified with the system is in the shop.

Questions and answers

Does the register work without internet?

Yes. Offline mode is part of the core. Documents are issued and synchronized once the connection is restored, with correct fiscalization.

Do I need special hardware?

No. POS runs on an ordinary tablet or computer. Fiscal devices, printers and displays verified with the system are available in the shop.

How much does a register cost for one café?

One user with the POS module costs $14.90 per month. The module has 15 parts, and you enable only those you need.
